Subject: Dragon 26 - Jack Vance stuff? From: hfoao122@huey.csun.edu (john horton) Date: 1996/08/26 Message-Id: <322139d9.0@newz.csun.edu> Organization: California State University, Northridge Newsgroups: rec.games.frp.dnd Hi all, I'd like to hear from anyone familiar with Dragon #26. I believe it contains some info on the characters and/or spells from Jack Vance's Dying Earth books. I know many of these spells are present in *D&D (although ususally under other names), but I wonder what that issue had to say about Vance's world. Thanks in advance, John Subject: Re: Dragon 26 - Jack Vance stuff? From: "David E. Number 26... June,1979... Hmm... Not much here. The only "Vancian" article contained therein is the "Giants in the Earth" article (NPC's from fantasy literature) where Lawrence Schick and Tom Moldary give stats for Cugel the Clever. They detail him as a 14th level thief, with some spells learned from Iucouno, the Laughing Magician. Hope this helps, David E. Wall -- wiz@neca.com http://www.neca.com/~wiz
